How are you handling the new normal?

Now is the perfect time to establish some new goals, priorities and routines in your life. Big or small, take the time to make them a part of your new normal.

Our friends at Mindstar have shared some advice that could make a difference for you.

  • Don't go it alone. Chat to your partner, your kids and your team at work. Have a deliberate discussion about what everyone's new priorities are, and allow the freedom for everyone to speak up and set their own. Maybe your kids loved reading more as a family, or your staff appreciated the flexibility to work some hours at home? Going forward, the adaptable homes and workplaces will thrive.

  • Block it out. Even the small things deserve space on the calendar. Whether it's enjoying a quiet 3pm coffee, closing the computer at 2pm on Fridays or a once a week beach stroll with a friend; find your wellbeing priorities and block them out like you would a work meeting!

  • Choose what's right for you, right now. Every family and business will have different 'normals' right now, and then different again in 6 months time. Stay flexible while focused on the goals you've set.

  • If you can decide for the next 6 months that 'wellbeing' is a part of your re-build plan, then you, your family and your small business will recover that much stronger.
