2020: Year in review
Like many, our year didn’t exactly turn out the way we planned, however our volunteer team didn’t let the pandemic write-off the whole year.
While we had to postpone some events, and not run others at all, we did manage to achieve some great outcomes for our community.
Our only major fundraising event of the year was the Sportsman’s Evening which was an incredible success raising funds for Swich On Inc’s ongoing initiatives and a direct donation to Rosies Friends of the Street . The Board would like to acknowledge the incredibly quick timeframes this event was put together in and thanks Grant Lowe for being the driving force behind this successful event.
Swich On Inc also supported another initiative this year, donating PPE to the Ipswich Youth Justice Service Centre transition to success program.

Swich On Inc donated PPE to assist students to complete their Tafe accreditations. Ben Hayward, who attended the graduation event on behalf of Swich On said it was clear on the faces of students and supporting families alike that this achievement will truly change the direction of the young men who participated in the program.
We’d like to acknowledge the awesome work of the Youth Justice staff who have a passion for the programs they produce and the positive change they are making everyday.
Silver linings
The slower event tempo allowed Swich On Inc to focus on a legacy project, Well HQ Ipswich. In partnership with the team and Mindstar, Swich On Inc fundraised and developed the Well HQ portal. It’s a wellbeing space for small businesses and employees and will provide businesses in the Ipswich area access to tailored tools and information designed to connect an individual (or business) to wellbeing resources and mental health information.
